Tychowo Commune
The Tychowo Commune is located in the southern part of Bialogardzki Poviat. It covers an area of 351 km2, with population of 7260 inhabitants. The clean environment, woodlands rich in fruit and game, lakes and rivers, in which brown trout and salmon are found, are the commune's main assets. The Tychowo Commune also has many valuable architectural sites, notably churches, palaces, mansions, as well as village, palace and mansion parks. You must see this: - The post-glacial boulder "Tryglaw", which is in the municipal cemetery in Tychowo. It is the largest in Poland and the third largest in Europe, is undoubtedly Tychowo's biggest attraction. Its circumference in 50 m, its height above the ground - 3.8 m, whereas the part remaining in the ground is 4 m. Tryglaw's weight is estimated at 200 tons. The boulder's name is derived from the name of the god Tryglaw, who was once worshipped here. - 15th century Church of Virgin Mary of the Support of the Faithful, expanded in the 18th and 19th centuries in Tychowo. - Landscape park from the second half of the 18th century (the remains of the palace of the von Kleist family) in Tychowo. - Lake "Dobroweckie Wielkie" with an area of 14 ha. - Yew reserve in the vicinity of Warnino. - The monument and remains of a P.O.W. camp for Allied pilots from World War II in Modrolas. - Eclectic mansion and the remains of 19th century park and palace complex in Trzebiec. - 18th century Church of St. Steven in Stare Dębno. - Palace from the end of the 19th century and the mansion park in Smęcino. - Half-timbered church in Motarzyn from the second half of the 17th century with the 18th century Renaissance pulpit, the 17th century organ gallery, 17th century Renaissance wooden sculptures, brass chandeliers from 1611, and a Gothic bell from 1603. - 16th century half-timbered church in Kowalki. - 19th century palace in Kikowo. - Historical complex comprised of a palace, park and church in Dobrowo. - 19th century park and palace complex and the 16th century Church of St. John the Baptist in Bukówko.
